I bought this watch for my 6 year old son because I remember learning to tell time on a similar style watch. The only problem I see so far, well not so much a problem, but something I would change.... make the color of the hour hand correspond to the color of the large number on the watch (white) and the minute hand white to match the minutes they have printed on the face of the watch. My watch had a circle on the minute hand which encircled the number for the minute. I do remember that. My son is a bit taken aback by this watch. He doesn't want to wear it quite yet. But I bought him a Kumon time telling book and he says he wants to wear the watch after he finishes the book. So... time will tell...

I sent this to my 12 yr old niece and it was just the right thing. Her favorite color is blue and that was important. She has received a lot of compliments on style. High marks for her age group!

Got this for 12 year old's birthday. she loves it. Band is solid enough not to fall off. Hinge on smiley watch cover is not the sturdiest but ok. Not bad at under $20 bucks, but doesn't seem like it will last very long.

I rated this watch 3 stars because it's a good watch you can see the times perfectly and it's all good but; if your busy like me and your always wearing the cover starts to get loose. Then what happens is every time you raise your hand in class or high five someone you hear a little 'click'. It's kind of annoying especially if you do irishstep dancing like I do. Every time you jump you hear a 'click'.
