Luckily, I found it for just $10 and I'm happy with that price, since it isn't worth a penny more than that.Unfortunately, the thick band strap with cover isn't made well. There is a scratchy velcro piece that is never covered. I tried to cover it, but with the Mockingjay design on the outside, that scratchy velcro piece will always be there and can damage your clothing if you rub your arm against whatever you are wearing. Plus the Mockingjay design itself can wear off the band easily after a brief period of time. However, with all that said...the watch itself is nifty on the simplistic band. To me, that alone is worth $10 because it's a working watch concerning The Hunger Games. Also what's nice is while the watch may appear to have a dead battery/not be working in its sealed package, it actually means NECA has inserted a tiny plastic piece... So far I have loved everything I purchased. The district 12 keychain, fleece blanket with Peeta and Katniss and the Katniss and Peeta action figures... all wonderful. I was a bit disappointed in this watch though. Probably my fault because I had not noticed that it is considered a "toy" by amazon. Its not as nice as I would have liked. The watch band is cloth (guessing some type of nylon) and the actual watch face can be removed from band easily. The watch can be worn with or without the thick-band cover. The cover could be worn by itself. The company (NECA)did little to protect the watch with its packaging. It comes tied to cardboard in a very very thin plastic bag. I'll probably wear it a few times. But its not a watch to last years. Would be a wonderful addition to a Katniss costume. :) I should never have openned it and just kept it to collect. |
